Thanksgiving Celebration

Some people in the Philippines celebrate their own Thanksgiving Day and parties individually, unlike in America where Thanksgiving Day is celebrated by Americans nationwide. My grandmother's feast day falls every December 8 yearly. That’s because the day happens to be the feast day of the Immaculate Conception my grandma's saint she prays, that’s her thanksgiving day and she throws a big party on that day. She would have all kinds of foods on that day cooked in our house with her coterie of cooks and house helps because of the different number of foods. She had the house decorated and cleaned for the visitors. Her visitors are mostly family friends, her own set of friends, business partners, and her tenants. Those were the days when my grandma was still up and about.

A Helping Hand
