Easy Pita Bread

The first time I ate Pita bread, it really felt like it was love at first taste! From then on, I search for recipes for pita bread, but most of them were complicated. Good thing I have a friend who is generous enough to mail me this recipe of what she called the “Easy Pita Bread”.

Ingredients: 1 tbs. active dry yeast

2 cups luke warm water

4 cups all-purpose flour, unsifted

2 tbs. salt and oil

Procedure:

In a bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Let stand for 10-15 minutes. In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center. Pour oil and yeast mixture, stir until well blended. Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Cover with cloth and let it rise until it doubles in size. Punch down and divide into portions (4” circles, ¼ thick). Place on floured baking tray, cover and let stand for 15-20 minutes, then bake at 450F for 12 minutes.
